
Verla E. Wright, age 76, of Brown City,
Michigan, died Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Verla was born June 17, 1927 in Bad Axe to Andrew and Eva (Edwards) Chesney.
On September 22, 1945 she married Carl Wright in Walled Lake, Michigan. Verla
taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Beulah Church of
Nazarene. She enjoyed crocheting and she especially liked to spend time with her
grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Carl, daughter, Mary Ann (David T.) Smith of
Utica, sons; Gary (Crystal) Wright of Marlette, Michigan, George (Nancy) Wright
of Silverwood, Michigan, Andy (Janel) Wright of Manton, Michigan, sister; Lena
Welch of Remus, Michigan, Anna Wright of Oxford, Michigan, brother-in-law,
Russel (Lois) Wright of Kingston, Michigan, 45 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Carole Pettit and son, Carl Wright.
The family will be present for visitation on Thursday, November 6, 2003 from 6 to 8pm, Friday, November 7, 2003 from 11 to 8pm and Saturday, November 8, 2003 from 10 to 11am with a 11:00am funeral service at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, North Branch, Michigan.
