Robert Smith, age 58, of Kings Mill, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002. Bob was born May 28, 1944, the son of Myrl and Florence (Snover) Smith.

Bob grew up in Kings Mill area and continued to live in the area. He attended Kings Mill School and North Branch High School.

On April 11, 1964, Rev. Hemingway united Bob and Sandy in marriage at Liberty Street Gospel, Lapeer, Michigan. Bob retired from Pontiac Motors i the engineering Department in 1995 after having 30 years of service. In June 1985 he purchased Smitty's Market and Gun Shop, he sold the market and moved Smitty's Gun Shop next door, where he enjoyed spending time repairing and selling guns.

Bob loved to work on his convertible, and he enjoyed having a weenie roast and wagon rides with his grandchildren and family. Bob was very active with the North Branch Lions, and was Past President of North Branch Lions Club from 1987 to 1988, he was also a member of the North Branch United Methodist Church.

Bob was a very giving, caring person and will  missed not only by his family, but by the entire community.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy, daughters; Brenda (Roque) DeLeon of Clarkston, Janette (Joe) Wilcox of Otter Lake, Charlene (John) Parsons and Darlene Smith both of North Branch, son, Robert Jr. (Wife, Holly) Smith of North Branch, mother, Florence Smith of Lum, grandchildren; Krystal, Jake, Tom, Dylan Pridemore, Jessica, Allison Wilcox, William Smith of Barbeau, William (Barb) Smith of Attica, Tom Smith of Lapeer, Donald (Carol) Smith of North Branch, Glenn (Karen) Smith of Attica, many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father, Duane, parents-in-law; Harold and Ila Kay Scramlin, nieces, Stacy Smith and Joanne Smith, nephew, Glenn Smith, sister-in-law, Karen Smith and a special friend Bill Smoke.

Memorials may be made to the family for use at their discretion.

Family will be present for visitation at Blackburn Chapel on Thursday, October 31, 2002 from 5 to 8, Friday, November 1, 2002 from 11 to 1 and 4 to 8, the funeral service will be 11:00, Saturday, November 2, 2002 at the North Branch High School Auditorium with Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiating. Burial will be in Lum Cemetery.
