Jean Romain, age 87, of North Branch, died Monday, March 10, 2003 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. Jean was born June 18, 1915 in Ottawa, Canada, she was the daughter of Ernest and Gladys (Patterson) Reade.

Jean spent most of her childhood in Ottawa, Canada, as a teenager she moved to Detroit and attended High School there.

She enjoyed reading, bowling when her health permitted her to, and playing Euchre on Friday afternoons with all of hr friends. Jean was a member of the First United Methodist church in North Branch, Michigan.

She is survived by her daughter, Vivian (husband, Glenn) Bader of North Branch, Michigan, brother, Donald (wife, Noreen) Reade of Millington, Michigan, grandchildren; Alan (wife, Renae') Bader, Teresa Bader, and Thomas (wife, Val) Bader all of North Branch, Michigan, great-grandchildren; Angela (husband, Eric) Baker of Otter Lake, Michigan, Melissa Caldwell of Midland, Michigan, Jonathan Smith of North Branch, Michigan, Cody, Hannah, Samantha and Felicia Bader all of North Branch, Michigan, great-great grandchildren; Sierra, and Chenoa Baker of Otter Lake, Michigan, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, George Reade and sister, Joyce McRobb.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Family will be present for visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 from 3 to 8, Wednesday, March 12, 2003 from 10 to 11. The funeral service will b 11:00, Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery.
