Neva Coulter, age 90, of North Branch, Michigan, died Thursday, July 17, 2003 at Lapeer Regional Hospital. Neva was born December 31, 1912 in Mayfield Township, Michigan. She was the daughter of William  and Blanche (Petrie) Stroup.

She grew up in Mayfield Township, Michigan. After graduating from Lapeer Schools she attended Country Normal. On July 4, 1931, she married Lloyd Coulter in Ohio.

Neva and Lloyd owned and operated several businesses, including Coulter's IGA Market, and Coulter Sales in Lapeer. Even after retirement, she and Lloyd enjoyed developing subdivisions and selling real estate.

Neva loved traveling. She and Lloyd traveled throughout the United States and Europe. She enjoyed spending weekends in Port Austin with her family and friends. They wintered in Homestead, Florida. Neva was an avid reader and enjoyed working on crafts, crocheting and playing cards.

Left to cherish her memory are; son, dick (wife, Candy) of North Branch, Michigan, sisters-in-law, Lillian Coulter, Maxine Taylor, and Donna Coulter all of Lapeer, Michigan, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and a special friend, Howard Spencer of Lapeer, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lloyd, 8 brothers and sisters.

The family suggest memorials may be made to the North Branch Township Library.

The family will be present for visitation on Friday, July 18, 2003 from  5 to 8, Saturday, July 19, 2003 from 9 to 2. The funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 19, 2003 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home. Jeff Brown will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer, Michigan.
