Richard Brace, age 82, of North Branch, Michigan, died Friday, February 13, 2004 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
Dick was born August 26, 1921 in Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Walter and Ruth (Hill) Brace. He grew up in the Troy, Michigan area, but he spent most of his adult life in the North Branch area.
Dick served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. On September 14, 1940 he married Elizabeth Bennett in North Branch, Michigan. Dick worked in a machine shop and also was a farmer. He was a member of the North Branch American Legion Post 457, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially coon hunting.

He is survived by his children; Ruth (George) Whitehead of Lapeer, Richard (Mary) Brace of Marlette, Michigan, Linda (Ernert) Marston of North Branch, Michigan, Robert ( Ceci) Brace of California, Jean (Kenneth) Shipley of Lapeer, Michigan, William (Janet) Brace of Columbiaville, Michigan, Betty (Michael) Walker of Lapeer, Michigan, Debbie (Robert) McCall of Lapeer, Michigan, Earl (Anna) Brace of North Branch, Michigan and Steven Brace of North Branch, Michigan, brother; Russel (Pat) Brace and sisters; Dorothy Mahaffy and Sharon (Ron) Hayward all of Brown City, Michigan, 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994, sister, June, brother, Walter, and great-granddaughter, Amara.

The family will be present for visitation on Sunday, February 15, 2004 from 2 pm to 8 pm, and Monday, February 16, 2004 at Blackburn Chapel-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Ferrigan officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in North Branch, Michigan.
